Christena Callaghan

Hi. My name is Christena Callaghan and I am the President and Founder of Angels for Mexico. This journey has been very divinely guided and I could not have done it without the support of amazing family and friends. The generosity of the people here and the overwhelming gratitude of the Mexican people can be very humbling. Through the donations of emergency service gear and equipment, school supplies and the rebuilding of playgrounds, we have been able to make a difference to some of the families in Mexico. It is a big well to fill but we do what we can with the help of many Angels – here and up above. As always, I look forward to seeing what lies ahead on this wonderful ride!

Caitlin Campbell

Hi, my name is Caitlin Campbell. Day to day, I have a career that aligns with my passion for the environment, as I work providing consulting services for sustainable building design and construction. I live in Turner Valley with my husband, beautiful Son, Sawyer and our furry family member, Jackson. Before being asked to join the board of directors for AFM, I had been taking part in the playground builds for about the past 8 years. My absolute favorite part of the builds is seeing an empty unused space on that first day, and then being able to see an incredible community space for kids to play, and parents to see the pure happiness on their children's faces at the end of the trip. The transformation, after all of our hard work, never fails to amaze me. My soft spot for animals means that I also love bringing dog treats down for the furry friends that visit our playground sites. Being a newer member on the board, I am looking forward to contributing further to this incredible organization, and attending many more playground builds to come.

Mel Densham

My name is Mel Densham. I have been involved with Angels for Mexico since 2010 as a board member contributing ideas, gathering fundraising items for auctions, sharing in the efforts involved regarding fundraising functions and generally communicating the many successful endeavors Angels Fort Mexico has achieved so far. I discovered Angels for Mexico during a massage session with Christena Callaghan (a registered therapist) and the president of this worthy cause. I had mentioned to her that I was winding down my working career and wasn't sure what to get involved in. Well that raised a flag and Christena suggested I come on board to help her charity. I am so glad I did as the results of the efforts of her team have been exceptionally well appreciated and recognized. I was raised in Oshawa,Ontario,Canada, moved to Calgary Alberta in 1975. Fortunately for me, shortly after, I married Audrey and both of us have raised two great boys Ryan and Chris. During my working life as a professional retailer I enjoyed success as a senior manager and buyer with 2 National Department Stores, held District Management positions with several national and regional chain stores and also spent 6 years as owner operator of a small group of ladies fashion stores. Currently I hold a sales and marketing position with a National advertising company.

Rod Mackay

In October, 2009 I was introduced to Angels For Mexico while volunteering with Diakonos Society (a group supporting first responders) on a joint agency house building trip to Puerto Vallarta. Since then, I have participated in three AFM playground building trips to Puerto Vallarta and Los Ayala. Along the way, my wife Patricia and I have made several close friendships. I love the camaraderie of our group, together with the firefighters and residents of the Mexican communities who have helped us. They are so appreciative. To see the happy children in the playgrounds is wonderful. In July, 2015, after 37 years as a Calgary Police Service officer, I retired. I have plenty of leisure time now and I look forward to continuing to work with Angels For Mexico.

Darcy Lamoureux

I am Darcy Lamoureux and have always been interested in helping those in need. I go to Haiti regularly to volunteer at an orphanage I helped start there. A number of years ago I worked for a foundation that took used playgrounds and sent them to Third World countries and thru that I got connected with Angels for Mexico as the playground builder. I have gone a number of builds and it is always a blessing to see the teams come together for the benefit of the community for whom we are putting up the playground. Recently I was asked to be on the Board of Angels for Mexico and I look forward to what we can do together.
