Airdrie Fire Department Deputy Chief Letter to Airdrie Firefighters

The Amazing Angels for Mexico Doing Amazing Work

On Monday, June 17th, Chief Weinberger and I had the opportunity to meet with Chief Steve Dongworth and Chief Adrian Bobadilla from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Chief Bobadilla and his wife were in Calgary to express his appreciation to the CFD and AFD for their ongoing commitment to the charitable work of Angels for Mexico, a non-profit charity started in Calgary in 2007 by Christena Callaghan.

The goal of this caring organization is to collect and distribute much-needed firefighting equipment and gear to fire services throughout Mexico.

The generosity of departments such as Calgary and Airdrie has greatly assisted the important work of Angels for Mexico. The numerous departments they assisted Chief Bobadilla presented an overview of the Puerto Vallarta Fire Department, which consists of 140 firefighters, one main fire station, and three substations that service an area of approximately 389 square kilometers. He also became an honorary Calgarian through the traditional white hat ceremony.
